At Alcacia, we only produce 100% organic honey.

Nectar Source
All our nectar comes from flowers located in ecologically certified fields, free from pesticides and herbicides.
Treatment
At Alcacia, we follow a rigorous policy of natural treatment for our bees, based on the use of thymol or oxalic acid applied in either sublimated or liquid form.
As a result, our honey is free from residues derived from the chemical treatment of bees with oxytetracycline, tylosin, erythromycin, lincomycin, and other artificial and industrial chemicals, including antibiotics and antibacterial or antiparasitic agents.

Beehives
All our beehives are made from wood treated with natural and ecological oils, rejecting the use of high-density polystyrene or similar hives.
At Alcacia, we do not believe in extensive beekeeping; therefore, we use Langstroth-style hives that fully respect the natural cycles of bees, where the honey stored in the brood chamber is left exclusively for the bees’ use, using only the honey they have in excess.
This is why at Alcacia we take pride in being categorized as “caretakers” of bees, maintaining a 100% symbiotic relationship at all times. In exchange for their care, they offer us their excess honey, which is what reaches the final customer.

Location
Our apiaries are located deep within forests and mountains in Spain, ensuring that the hives are far from sources of contamination such as urban or conventional agricultural areas. Additionally, the non-extensive size of our apiaries guarantees the quantity, variety, and quality of our flowers.
Due to the priority given to the health and well-being of the bees, proactive conservation of biodiversity, use of natural and non-polluting materials, pest and disease control methods used, and our ethical production policy, we can affirm that at Alcacia we are not only 100% organic but also 100% sustainable.
